Rebel Genesis; the creation of videobooth

videobooth_sydneyIn the beginning he created photobooth, and whilst it captured wonderful memories of joyous occasions, the earth was static and empty, devoid of movement. Sad really.

BUT THEN THE REBEL’S HAD AN ALMIGHTY EPIPHANY! And they said “let there be light! Lupo lights, strobe lights and glorious light refracted on millions of tiny twinkling pieces of glitter, bouncing and reflecting on the slowly revolving, unending light of the disco ball!”

And the Rebel’s saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning – The First day.

On the third day came the procuring of a new recruit into the rebel’s vast array of video camera’s, lights, props and sound systems… a tiny yet powerful creation, the Nikon 1. The whole earth gasped in wonder at its perfectly crisp photographs…”behold!” the Rebel’s cried in astonishment, “these images are in fact BETTER than real life!” And the Rebel’s saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning – The Second day.

The Rebel’s soon realized that whilst the photo’s were indeed wonderful, they needed something more, something MOVING…. So they passed through and beyond the enemies’ territory and onto exploring the world of videographical capabilities.

What impressed them the most was the incredible slow motion feature; Capturing each and every tiny movement, moments the naked eye could never take in; flying hair across faces, bright orange dangling octopus arms on a top hat, shards of glittering confetti exploding out of an open hand, catching the light of the disco ball and popping with each clack of the strobe. And the Rebel’s saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning – The Third Day.
The Rebel’s needed to prove their theory of moving magic so they subjected human guinea pigs to hours upon hours of dancing in their small and colourful enclosure.

Even after the 100th take had been clapped, after they had repeatedly thrown glitter into the human’s eyeballs and they were crying on the inside, even after their legs were no longer working from hours of dancing like no-one was watching (fools!) – through the playback of Rebel Videobooth we all appeared to be on the verge of spontaneously combusting with happiness!! And perhaps we just were. And there was evening and there was … a rather hazy morning. The Fourth Day.
And the Rebel’s saw that it was good and that they had created something magical in only 4 days.
